Network Email and Password Information

Students - Your email is usually your first and second initial followed by your last name and the number 1 - @malone.edu. Example: John Doe Smith would be "jdsmith1@malone.edu". Your username will be sent to you by the IT Help Desk through your personal email address, if we have one available.

Faculty/Staff - Your email is usually your first initial followed by your last name. Example: John Doe Smith would be "jsmith@malone.edu". Your email will be sent to you by the IT Help Desk through your personal email address, if we have one available. The department head and Administrative Assistant will also have your login information.

What is my default password?

Students - Please visit https://login.microsoftonline.com/ to set up your password. Newly admitted students will have their password included with their acceptance letter.

Your default password will be a randomly generated 10 digit strand of characters.

Faculty/Staff - Your password will be texted/emailed to you prior to your start date.

How can I change my password?

Students, Faculty, and Staff are required to set up and use https://login.microsoftonline.com/ before they can access the Malone University technology resources.

Using Microsoft will enable you to do the following:
  • Set up security questions
  • Change your password
  • Reset your password when you have forgotten it or are having trouble
Once you have changed your password, you will be able to access all of your Malone University Technology resources using your new password.

What if I have forgotten my password?

If you have forgotten your password:

1. Go to the following website: https://login.microsoftonline.com/
2. Select "Forgot my password"
3. Follow the prompts to regain access to your account

If this does not work or you encounter any issues while gaining access to your account, please contact the Information Technologies Help Desk at 330.471.8428. We must confirm your identity to reset your password.

I just changed my password...

Changing your password can cause your devices to drop off of the WiFi connection, websites may require you to log in again if the password was saved, among other things. If you notice that something is no longer accessing the Malone network once you changed your password, simply log in with your new password, and that should fix the issue.
