What is my username?

Students - Visit our account self-service tool at https://userid.malone.edu/assistant and follow the prompts to determine your username.

Faculty/Staff - Your username is usually your first initial followed by your last name. Example: jpublic. Your username will be sent to you through your administrative assistant or through your personal email address, if we have one available. Faculty and staff can also use the account assistant located at: https://userid.malone.edu/assistant

What is my default password?

Students - Please visit our account self-service tool at https://userid.malone.edu/assistant to set up your password. If this is the first time you are accessing your accounts, you will need the last four digits of your social security number.

Your default password can be determined by using the following formula:

Default Password = first initial, middle initial, last initial, followed by the last 4 digits of your social security number (If no SS#, try 4 zeros.)

Sample name: John Q. Public --- SS#: 111-22-1234
Password: jqp1234

Faculty/Staff - Please call the Help Desk (330.471.8428) to obtain your password.

How can I change my password?

Students, Faculty, and Staff are required to set up and use our new Self Service Password Reset System before they can access the Malone University technology resources.

The Self Service Password Reset System will enable you to do the following:
  • Set up security questions
  • Change your password
  • Reset your password when you have forgotten it or are having trouble
  • Unlock your account

Once you have changed your password using the Self Service Password Reset System, you will be able to access all of your Malone University Technology resources using your new password. Additionally, our Self-Service Password Reset System will allow you to reset your password at any time, from anywhere, if it has been forgotten or compromised.

What if I have forgotten my password?

If you have forgotten your password, but you have set up your question and answer pairs within the Password Reset System and need to reset your password:

1. Go to the following website: https://userid.malone.edu/assistant
2. Select "My password is not working"
3. Follow the prompts to regain access to your account

If the self-service tool is not working for you or if you encounter any issues while gaining access to your account, please contact the Information Technologies Help Desk at 330.471.8428. We must confirm your identity to reset your password.
