How do I get audio/visual equipment to use for a class or personal project?

Malone Media Services offers a number of audio/visual devices geared to help you succeed with education-related projects.

To check out any of the following items, please come to the Media Services/IT Help Desk located in Haviland Hall. Media Services is staffed 8 am - 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Be sure to bring your Malone ID with you. You can contact the Media Services Help Desk at 330.471.8429.

If you cannot pick up your items when the Media Services is open, you can make a reservation for equipment or services via email with 24 hours of notice. Send equipment requests to helpdesk@malone.edu. All gear will be assembled and ready for pick up from the library circulation desk. You must have a Malone ID or Driver’s license to prove identity when picking up equipment.

Equipment drop off can also be done at the library circulation desk.

Most items can be checked out on a 3 business day basis and can be renewed once before returning.

Cameras
  • Canon HD Vixia Camcorders (Records on SD memory cards)
  • Flip Video cameras
  • iPad minis with tripods (great for recording short videos such as student teacher TPAs or Graduate Counseling sessions)


Tripods
  • Full-size tripods
  • Tabletop tripods are included in each camcorder bag


Audio Recording Devices
  • Zoom H1 Audio Recorders (record directly to MP3 or WAV formats)
  • Zoom H4 Audio Recorders (with XLR inputs)
  • Cassette tape recorders


Microphones
  • Blue Snowball USB mic
  • Plantronics USB Headset/Mic combinations (great for lecture capture)
  • Lapel Mics


Laptops & iPads
  • Netbooks (mini-laptops)
  • Full-size laptops
  • iPads and iPad minis.
  • Case of five iPads (Students need faculty permission)


Data Projectors
  • Small-profile portable projectors
  • Full-size projectors (brighter image but harder to carry)
  • Portable Projector Screens


Misc.
We have other miscellaneous items as well, including such items as:

  • Powerpoint Remotes "Kensington Clickers"
